Like the industry legend Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a game and ashow. But, this game is not video, it is a highly addictive cardgame. Pokemon had cards too and Yu-Gi-Oh! has a video game aswell, but this card game is a much bigger deal, rivaling thelikes of the widespread MAGIC the Gathering series of cardgames. Popular it is, this game of cards.

3. Journey to The Duelists Kingdom

A side-by-side comparison of the latest phenomenon with thelegend goes like this: In its first 3 years in Japan, Pokemonsold 10 million video games and 600 million cards. After 3 yearsin Japan, Yu-Gi-Oh! sold 7 million video games and 3 BILLIONcards. So, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a video game too, but the cards arewhere the attraction lies. So far, Pokemon has sold 90 millionvideo games and 6 billion cards. If Yu-Gi-Oh! stays on par withPokemon it may end up having one of the largest followings ofany game in history.

4. Duel Monsters

So who or what is Yu-Gi-Oh!, anyway?

The show excels with the highly-kinetic Japanese anime style andfollows the adventures of a shy high school student named Yugi.Yugi is not a popular kid and takes the blunt of many highschool bullies, but is able to escape this ridicule when anancient Egyptian artifact, known as “The Millennium Puzzle”,transports him into a magical realm where the popular card game,Duel Monsters, comes to life!

5. Millennium Puzzle

The Millennium Puzzle carries a deep secret buried deep withinit. When Yugi finds himself in a bit of trouble, which often thecase, the puzzle comes to life and invites Yugi to, “How aboutplaying a game with me?”

6. The Ultimate Great Moth

Intricate, that is what makes Yu-Gi-Oh! so immensely popular.Details, that’s what it’s got in spades. Details out the YinYang! Vibrantly rich details providing a “real world” thatdeeply submerses the players and viewers in a complex andentertaining experience.

7. Everything’s Relative

During the first season of the show, Yugi was put to the testwhen he had to save his grandfather, this season the stakes haverisen just a bit and now he must save the entire world.

8. Champion vs. Creator

The second series is currently underway in Japan and is basedaround Yugi’s adventures when his grandfather’s soul is stolenby, Pegasus J. Crawford, the creator of the card game DuelMonsters. Yugi must journey to the Duelist Kingdom to facePegasus in a tournament to win back his grandfather’s soul.

9. The Dueling Monkey
