Like the industry legend Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a game and ashow. But, this game is not video, it is a highly addictive cardgame. Pokemon had cards too and Yu-Gi-Oh! has a video game aswell, but this card game is a much bigger deal, rivaling thelikes of the widespread MAGIC the Gathering series of cardgames. Popular it is, this game of cards.

A side-by-side comparison of the latest phenomenon with thelegend goes like this: In its first 3 years in Japan, Pokemonsold 10 million video games and 600 million cards. After 3 yearsin Japan, Yu-Gi-Oh! sold 7 million video games and 3 BILLIONcards. So, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a video game too, but the cards arewhere the attraction lies. So far, Pokemon has sold 90 millionvideo games and 6 billion cards. If Yu-Gi-Oh! stays on par withPokemon it may end up having one of the largest followings ofany game in history.

4. Duel Monsters

So who or what is Yu-Gi-Oh!, anyway?

The show excels with the highly-kinetic Japanese anime style andfollows the adventures of a shy high school student named Yugi.Yugi is not a popular kid and takes the blunt of many highschool bullies, but is able to escape this ridicule when anancient Egyptian artifact, known as “The Millennium Puzzle”,transports him into a magical realm where the popular card game,Duel Monsters, comes to life!

5. Millennium Puzzle

The Millennium Puzzle carries a deep secret buried deep withinit. When Yugi finds himself in a bit of trouble, which often thecase, the puzzle comes to life and invites Yugi to, “How aboutplaying a game with me?”

6. The Ultimate Great Moth

Intricate, that is what makes Yu-Gi-Oh! so immensely popular.Details, that’s what it’s got in spades. Details out the YinYang! Vibrantly rich details providing a “real world” thatdeeply submerses the players and viewers in a complex andentertaining experience.

7. Everything’s Relative

During the first season of the show, Yugi was put to the testwhen he had to save his grandfather, this season the stakes haverisen just a bit and now he must save the entire world.

8. Champion vs. Creator

The second series is currently underway in Japan and is basedaround Yugi’s adventures when his grandfather’s soul is stolenby, Pegasus J. Crawford, the creator of the card game DuelMonsters. Yugi must journey to the Duelist Kingdom to facePegasus in a tournament to win back his grandfather’s soul.

Baby Shower Themes
By Cathy Cripps, Fri Dec 9th

Once the type of shower has been decided on, the fun begins increating a theme. Sometimes, the shower will be very elegant,sometimes more casual, and sometimes, just downright fun. Thetheme of the shower should be a direct reflection on theexpectant parents’ personalities and lifestyle. Therefore, whenhosting, it is important that they have input into the finaldecisions.

Again, you can do anything youlike, as long as it coordinates with what the couple wants. Ifyou will be the host, take this opportunity to use yourimagination, borrow ideas, and allow the creative juices toflow. You want the baby shower to be enjoyable, full oflaughter, and a memorable occasional regardless of the theme.The following are a few popular recommendations:
SUPPERTIME

class=”style1″> Typically, a baby shower consistsof games, food, and presents. However, why not take the ideaone-step further by including frozen dinners, preferablyhomemade. If the couple has room, have each guest bringsomething that can be frozen or is already frozen.

Whether the shower is before or after the birthof the baby, this means the couple does not have to spend tirednights trying to cook. Instead, they can simply pull out one ofthe frozen dinners, pop it in the oven or microwave, and in ashort time, have a nutritious homemade meal.

You would be amazed at how much this sentiment isappreciated. Just be sure everyone labels the food with thename, date, and any cooking instructions. Finally, if possible,try to provide some meal ideas for guests so they know whattypes of food the couple enjoys. By offering a little guidance,this will also help reduce the chance of duplication.

IOU

This theme baby shower is not only fun but also atremendous help to both the expectant mother and father. Withthis, every guest would bring a handwritten, signed, and datedIOU that would provide a service after the birth of the baby.Similar to task coupons, the mother can call upon the IOU whenneeded and the family member of friend complies. Some of thethings you would expect to see include:

* One home cooked dinner
* One night of babysitting
* Four hours of house cleaning
* One week oflaundry
* One week of running errands

BEDRIDDEN

Unfortunately, pregnancy is not a breeze forevery mother. Some women have complications that can keep herbedridden at home or even at the hospital. For the expectantmother, waiting for the birth of a child from bed is lousy. Ababy shower can be customized around her situation to brightenher day, giving her hope while lifting her spirits.

Instead of waiting on the birth of the baby, goahead and plan the shower with close family members and friends,bringing the shower to her. Remember, after the baby is born, afull-scale shower can always follow. However, for this type ofshower, guests should create a miniature gift box or basket.Great ideas of what might be offered include:
# Craft projects that can be worked on in bedare good choices. This might include cross-stitch, needlepoint,simple paintings, and even handmade ornaments.
# Books are also excellent ideas but it is important to choosebooks that she likes. Ask her or her family what types of booksshe enjoys reading.
# Puzzles are also a greatway for the expectant mother to pass the time. This mightinclude crossword puzzles, other puzzle books, or a flat traywith a small piece puzzle, perhaps of a baby.
# Video tapes or DVDs are nice in that she can watch her favoritetelevision shows or movies while still getting the rest needed.
# A day spa certificate to include massage,facial, pedicure, and manicure for after her baby is born wouldprovide her with something to look forward to but you might alsogo in with other people in having a reflexologist or masseusecome to her.
# Care package for after the birth,again to help her think about the future. This could include atrip to the beauty parlor, dinner out with her husband orfriend, housecleaning service for two to four weeks, three tosix-month supply of diapers, and so on.
# Bodylotion, perfume, balloons, flowers, and other similar things arealways nice to help brighten the room and put her in a bettermood while waiting for her new bundle of joy to arrive.
